The Echelon, in beige suede
A penny loafer in beige suede, which is the version most people should start with. Suede in a light colour reads relaxed, so it stops a summer suit looking like office wear, and beige goes with more of the catalogue than brown does.
The Porto, in soft leather
A tassel loafer in soft leather. Tassels are the slightly more confident choice and they belong with a suit rather than with jeans. The softness of the leather is what makes them wearable all day, and it is the difference between a shoe you own and a shoe you wear.
What to wear them with
Suede loafers in light brown or tan with a beige or cream suit, for texture contrast. Black suede with anything dark. And if you want a shoe that covers wet weather and a suit at the same time, the Chelsea boot rather than the loafer is the honest answer.
The casual end
