Green wool shorts at 335 grams to the metre with a little spandex: a substantial cloth for a short, which is what gives these their drape and their line. The green is deep, closer to bottle than to grass, and looks its best with cream and tan.
Flat front, no pressed crease, straight fly, two open back pockets, and a V split at the back of the waist for later alteration. Cut to your measurements.

Steam rather than wash, and press under a cloth. Rest it a day between wears on a shaped hanger. Dry-clean sparingly; once or twice a season is plenty.
