Grey cotton trousers in a light stretch cotton, 195 grams to the metre. This is the warm-weather grey: a cloth that breathes, moves and does not mind being sat in, in a colour that goes under every jacket in the wardrobe.
The build is simple and clean. Flat front with no pressed crease, a metal zip behind a straight fly, a waistband that closes on one button with no extension. Front pockets slant at 3.2 cm, back pockets are besom with a button, and the hem is fixed and topstitched at 2 cm. Grey cotton with a white shirt is a uniform for a reason. Cut to your measurements.

Steam rather than wash, and press under a cloth. Rest it a day between wears on a shaped hanger. Dry-clean sparingly; once or twice a season is plenty.
