Ivory trousers in a soft-washed cotton with 3% spandex, 245 grams to the metre, so they are light enough for warm weather and give a little at the knee and seat. The ivory is a pale, quiet off-white that sits well with navy, olive and tan.
An easy trouser with a utility streak. The 4 cm waistband is elasticated and closes on a button, with no extension and no belt loops. The front is flat with no pressed crease, and the front pockets slant at 3.2 cm. Each leg carries a cargo pocket with a single pleat and a buttoned flap, set 8 cm below the front pocket; the back pockets sit under pointed diamond flaps with a button; and each hem carries an adjustable tab on the outside seam. Unlined, with a plain 5 cm hem. Wear them with a navy knit or a denim shirt. Cut to your measurements.

Steam rather than wash, and press under a cloth. Rest it a day between wears on a shaped hanger. Dry-clean sparingly; once or twice a season is plenty.
