The slimmer of the grey striped pairs, in wool at 290 grams to the metre: a single shallow pleat toward the side seam, 1.5 cm deep, under a 4.5 cm waistband with a rounded front that closes on two buttons and a hook. The stripe is fine and lengthens the leg.
Two open back pockets. A mid-weight cloth for three seasons, and a trouser that takes a navy blazer to the office and a knit to lunch. Cut to your measurements.

Steam rather than wash, and press under a cloth. Rest it a day between wears on a shaped hanger. Dry-clean sparingly; once or twice a season is plenty.
