Taupe trousers in a blend of nylon, wool, polyester and cotton. Taupe is a grey with brown in it, soft and low in contrast, so it sits as easily with navy and white as it does with brown suede and cream knitwear.
Double pleats each side, 4.4 cm deep and turned toward the side seam, give the front real fullness, and the leg finishes in 5.1 cm turn-ups. The waistband is 5 cm deep with a soft inner band; it closes on an extension with a button and a hook, and opens in a V at the centre back seam. Belt loops edged with a double topstitch, double-besom back pockets with a button, keyhole buttonholes. Unlined. Wear them with a heavy knit or an overshirt and a dark brown shoe. Cut to your measurements.
