PLAYGROUND & BATTLEFIELD
The first look to hit the runway was a striking ensemble that redefined sportswear with a fashion-forward twist. Inspired by the swagger of 90s basketballers, the model strode out in a relaxed teal jacket and matching wide-leg shorts. The look was as confident as it was comfortable, evoking the laid-back Aussie attitude of the era but elevated for the modern-day city dweller. The addition of a sweeping overcoat draped over the shoulders added a dramatic flair, nodding to the unpredictable weather and unpredictable nights in New York. Styled with rugged military boots, this look wasn’t just a throwback—it was a declaration that streetwear can, and should, be both functional and fashion-forward. The juxtaposition of relaxed silhouettes with the toughness of the boots screamed urban resilience, perfect for those navigating the chaos of the night.
The second look was a sharp departure yet somehow felt like a continuation of the narrative—an embodiment of the duality of New York nights. But on the runway at New York Fashion Week, THEODORE captured the transition from the city’s relentless energy to the laid-back, sun-soaked shores of Sydney. The collection was a visual narrative, taking the audience on a journey from the bustling streets of Manhattan to the tranquil, iconic landmarks of Australia’s east coast. It was a story told through tailoring, textures, and an effortless blend of two distinct worlds.
