Biella wool suiting, the backbone of our range

Stylbiella is a family story from the Biella region. Giorgio came home to Italy at the end of 1974 to found the brand, and in 1984 he and his brother Giancarlo invested in their own production plant at Valdengo, a quiet site among trees and cornfields in the Biella countryside. The trade ran in the family: the patriarch, Piero Perino, born in 1900, had worked as a cloth merchant and designer before them.

The house made its name with fancy cloth for jackets and trousers, and the book keeps that streak. Its Black Watch check has been cut into blazers and golf trousers alike. Today the range runs from wool suitings to coatings, shirtings and tie cloth, all woven in Italy.

For us, Stylbiella is the backbone of the range. More THEODORE garments are cut from this house than from any other, the Lavender Haze Suit and the Mint Martini Suit among them.

It holds that position on balance. The cloth is fine enough to feel special and robust enough to be worn hard. The pricing means the money in a commission goes into the make. The mill describes its own aim as a high quality to price ratio. We keep testing that claim, one suit at a time, and it keeps holding.
