Grey check trousers in a stretch nylon at 174 grams to the metre, a cloth that weighs almost nothing and shakes off a crease. The grey check is the most wearable of the family: it goes with everything a plain grey trouser goes with, and gives the eye a little more.
These are the easy pair. The waist is elasticated, so they pull on and sit where they should without a belt, and still close on a button at the 4 cm waistband. Flat front, straight fly, front pockets slanted at 3.2 cm, welted back pockets with a button. Trousers for long days on the move. Cut to your measurements.

Nylon · Check
Steam rather than wash, and press under a cloth. Rest it a day between wears on a shaped hanger. Dry-clean sparingly; once or twice a season is plenty.
