Ivory shorts with a fine stripe in a wool and polyester cloth from Marzotto, 235 grams to the metre, with a thread of elastane. Ivory is the warmer white; the stripe is faint and tonal; the wool content means these hang and breathe where a cotton short would crumple.
A single pleat toward the side seam and front pockets slanted at 3.2 cm. Shorts to wear with a navy or sky blue shirt. Cut to your measurements.

Steam rather than wash, and press under a cloth. Rest it a day between wears on a shaped hanger. Dry-clean sparingly; once or twice a season is plenty.
