Khaki cotton trousers at 310 grams to the metre, which puts them at the heavy end of cotton and gives the leg a clean fall. The blend carries regenerated cellulose fibre, which softens the hand and adds drape, and a small amount of spandex so the cloth recovers at the knee. Khaki is the trouser colour that asks nothing of the rest of the outfit.
Flat front and no pressed crease, worn relaxed. A metal zip behind a straight fly; a waistband that closes on a single button with no extension. The front pockets are slanted at 3.2 cm, the back pockets are besom with a button, and the hem is fixed with a 2 cm topstitch. Cut to your measurements.

Steam rather than wash, and press under a cloth. Rest it a day between wears on a shaped hanger. Dry-clean sparingly; once or twice a season is plenty.
