White shorts with a fine stripe in a half wool, half polyester cloth at 280 grams to the metre. The wool gives the drape and the polyester keeps the stripe crisp and the white clean through a summer of wear.
A single pleat toward the side seam, 1.5 cm deep, besom front pockets set into the seam, and a 4.5 cm waistband with a rounded front that closes on two buttons and a hook. Two open back pockets. Cut to your measurements.

Fabric & care
Stripe
Steam rather than wash, and press under a cloth. Rest it a day between wears on a shaped hanger. Dry-clean sparingly; once or twice a season is plenty.
