Pure wool at 500 grams to the metre, in a coffee brown stripe, cut as an overcoat: among the heaviest cloths in the archive. The stripe is fine and tonal on a deep brown, and at this weight the coat is a winter one, to wear over a jacket or a heavy knit with the collar up.
No chest canvas, so the coat drapes rather than stands, and the cloth does the work. Cut to your measurements.

Steam rather than wash, and press under a cloth. Rest it a day between wears on a shaped hanger. Dry-clean sparingly; once or twice a season is plenty.
