Navy striped linen at 194 grams to the metre: a summer weight, light and breathable, with linen's natural texture. The navy is dark enough to wear into the evening.
A single pleat on each side folds toward the side seam for room through the thigh. The 4.5 cm waistband closes on two hooks with no extension, with standard belt loops and a V notch at the top of the centre-back seam. Front pockets sit on a 3.2 cm slant, the back pockets are besom, there is no coin pocket, and the trousers are unlined. Wear them with a white T-shirt or an open-collared shirt on a hot day. Cut to your measurements.

Steam rather than wash, and press under a cloth. Rest it a day between wears on a shaped hanger. Dry-clean sparingly; once or twice a season is plenty.
