Brown striped trousers in pure linen at 216 grams to the metre. Linen creases, and these are cut to make the creasing look intended: a single pleat toward the side seam, 1.5 cm deep, and a 3.2 cm turn-up at the hem that gives the leg some weight at the bottom. The stripe is fine and tonal in a warm brown.
Straight fly, a 4 cm waistband closing on a button with no extension, and welted back pockets. Linen trousers for heat, worn with a white shirt or a knitted polo and something unlined on top. Cut to your measurements.

Steam rather than wash, and press under a cloth. Rest it a day between wears on a shaped hanger. Dry-clean sparingly; once or twice a season is plenty.
