Light khaki gilet in a camel hair and silk cloth at 300 grams to the metre. Camel hair is one of the warmest fibres for its weight and one of the softest; blended with silk it takes on a glow that no wool has. A gilet in this cloth is a small luxury worn close to the body, under a coat or over a shirt.
No chest canvas, an unpadded natural shoulder and a 2.5 cm stitched hem. Cut to your measurements.

Steam rather than wash, and press under a cloth. Rest it a day between wears on a shaped hanger. Dry-clean sparingly; once or twice a season is plenty.
