The cloth library
Officine Paladino
Small-batch cloth, woven in Italy and Britain
Officine Paladino is one of the youngest names in our cloth library, founded in 2017 by two fabric merchants who saw dandyism coming back and decided the trade needed a book to match. Its collections read more like a designer's sketchbook than a weaver's archive, which is exactly why we keep them on the shelf.
The label designs rather than weaves. Each collection is developed in small batches with fine weavers in Italy and the United Kingdom, in natural fibre, and the Paladino team works beside them from the spinning through to the finishing. Some cloths carry quiet technical work too, such as natural stretch or resistance to water and creasing, qualities you notice only after living in the garment for a while.
Because the batches are small, the book changes. A length you admire at one fitting may be gone by the next, replaced by something just as particular. We count that in its favour, since the cloth you choose will be hard to find again.
When a client wants a garment nobody else will have, this is one of the first books we open. Ask for it by name at your next fitting.
The current book is best seen in person, laid over a shoulder in daylight.
