Black trousers in a fine Super 120’s wool, 290 grams to the metre. A plain, deep black that wears as well with a white shirt in the evening as with a grey knit at the weekend.
A single pleat folds toward the side seam, 4.4 cm deep. The 3.5 cm waistband closes on one button at a short rounded tab, with no hook, and has elastic concealed inside it for a little give. At the back the waistband is split in a V at the centre seam. Front pockets slant at 3.2 cm, a welted watch pocket sits on the right, and the back pockets are besom. The belt loops are left without topstitching, there is no coin pocket, and the trousers are unlined. Cut to your measurements.

Steam rather than wash, and press under a cloth. Rest it a day between wears on a shaped hanger. Dry-clean sparingly; once or twice a season is plenty.
