Blue grey wool trousers at 335 grams to the metre, a winter weight with a little spandex for recovery. The colour is the one that sits between a navy and a mid grey and goes with both: slate in shadow, blue in daylight. Wear it with brown shoes and a cream knit.
A single pleat toward the side seam, 2.5 cm deep, front pockets slanted at 3.2 cm and besom back pockets with a button. The back of the waist carries a V split so the seat can be let out or taken in later. Straight fly. Cut to your measurements.

Steam rather than wash, and press under a cloth. Rest it a day between wears on a shaped hanger. Dry-clean sparingly; once or twice a season is plenty.
