Heavy cotton at 300 grams to the metre with a little elastane, in mid grey, so the leg hangs straight and the knee still bends. This is the grey to wear when wool is too warm and a light chino too soft. It goes with every jacket you own.
Flat front, no pressed crease. A metal zip behind a straight fly, a waistband on one button with no extension, front pockets on a 3.2 cm slant and besom back pockets with a button. The hem is fixed and topstitched at 2 cm. Cut to your measurements.

Steam rather than wash, and press under a cloth. Rest it a day between wears on a shaped hanger. Dry-clean sparingly; once or twice a season is plenty.
