Ivory gilet in a heavy wool cloth with linen and a little silk, 350 grams to the metre, with a one-piece stand collar and no collar over it. A gilet is the layer for the months between: over a shirt when a jacket is too much, under a coat when a jacket is not enough.
No chest canvas and an unpadded natural shoulder, so it sits close. Ivory over a navy shirt or a dark knit. Cut to your measurements.

Steam rather than wash, and press under a cloth. Rest it a day between wears on a shaped hanger. Dry-clean sparingly; once or twice a season is plenty.
