Brown check casual jacket in a heavy wool at 375 grams to the metre, the weight of a winter tweed. The check is a warm brown on brown, and the cloth has enough body to stand in for a coat on a dry cold day.
Made with no chest canvas and an unpadded natural shoulder, so despite the weight it sits soft, like a heavy cardigan with a jacket's lines. Over a roll neck and flannels. Cut to your measurements.

Steam rather than wash, and press under a cloth. Rest it a day between wears on a shaped hanger. Dry-clean sparingly; once or twice a season is plenty.
