Coffee Box-Pleat Wool Trousers

Coffee trousers in pure wool flannel, a warm cloth with a soft surface, for the cooler months. The coffee is a dark one, deep enough to wear where you might otherwise reach for charcoal, and it sits well with cream, pale blue and grey.

The waist sits high, with one box pleat each side, 4.4 cm deep, and no pressed crease, so the pleats shape the leg on their own. At the front on each side is a wide belt loop, 4.4 cm across; the other loops are ordinary, and all are set into the waistband seam without topstitching. The fly is straight, and the 4 cm waistband closes on a hook with no extension. Front pockets slant at 3.2 cm, the back pockets are double besom with a button, and the hem is fixed with a 2.5 cm topstitch. Wear with a cream knit or a tweed jacket. Cut to your measurements.
