Lilac wool shorts, 285 grams to the metre, finished with a 4.4 cm turn-up, which gives a short the same visual full stop a turn-up gives a trouser. The lilac is a greyed, quiet purple that pairs with white, navy and grey.
A single box pleat at the centre of each front, 3.2 cm deep, an extended waistband closing on a button, two open back pockets. Cut to your measurements, so the turn-up lands where you want it.

Steam rather than wash, and press under a cloth. Rest it a day between wears on a shaped hanger. Dry-clean sparingly; once or twice a season is plenty.
