Plain white wool from Nobility, 275 grams to the metre, cut as a slim, quiet trouser. Where the other white wool pairs in the archive go wide and pleated, this one keeps a single shallow pleat and a narrow line, so it works under a navy blazer as readily as with a knit.
A single pleat toward the side seam at 1.5 cm, front pockets slanted at 3.2 cm, a welted watch pocket on the right, and a straight fly. White wool wears better than white cotton in cool weather and presses better in any weather. Cut to your measurements.

Steam rather than wash, and press under a cloth. Rest it a day between wears on a shaped hanger. Dry-clean sparingly; once or twice a season is plenty.
