Nobility grey wool at 275 grams to the metre, cut in the style with one deep box pleat at the centre of each front. The box pleat is 3.2 cm and gives the thigh real ease while keeping the front symmetrical, a cut that suits a heavier build and a longer jacket.
An extended waistband closes on a button with no further extension, the fly is straight, and the hem finishes in a 3.8 cm turn-up. Two open back pockets. Mid grey, the trouser colour that never has to be thought about. Cut to your measurements.

Steam rather than wash, and press under a cloth. Rest it a day between wears on a shaped hanger. Dry-clean sparingly; once or twice a season is plenty.
