The heaviest cotton in the range: khaki trousers at 435 grams to the metre, with elastane in the blend so a cloth this dense can still move. It has the hand of a moleskin or a heavy drill and wears in rather than out. Trousers for winter without wool.
Double pleats fold toward the side seam, 2 cm deep, giving a full front that suits the weight. The front is half-lined with the pocket bags set outside the lining, which is how a heavy trouser is made to slide on. A 4 cm waistband with belt loops, front pockets slanted at 3.2 cm, and welted back pockets left plain. Cut to your measurements.

Steam rather than wash, and press under a cloth. Rest it a day between wears on a shaped hanger. Dry-clean sparingly; once or twice a season is plenty.
