Navy trousers with a fine stripe, in a polyester and viscose cloth at 225 grams to the metre. The viscose gives the surface a soft drape the polyester alone would not, and the stripe is close enough to read as texture from a few paces. The pair to wear when a navy suit trouser is wanted without the suit.
Fully lined, with the pocket bags set outside the lining so the trousers slide on and hang clean. A single pleat toward the side seam, 1.5 cm deep; a wide 5 cm waistband closing on a hook without an extension; metal zip; besom back pockets with a button; a 5 cm hem. Cut to your measurements.

Steam rather than wash, and press under a cloth. Rest it a day between wears on a shaped hanger. Dry-clean sparingly; once or twice a season is plenty.
