A dark brown polo in a knit of 40% wool, 40% viscose and 20% polyamide, at 175 to 185 grams to the metre. The brown is very deep, close to black, with a warm cast, and it sits easily beside cream, stone, grey and navy.
The spread collar has 6.5 cm points and stands on a band 3 cm high at the back and 2.5 cm at the front, closed with one button. Two more buttons sit below it on a 2.8 cm polo placket, the first 4.7 cm under the collar seam. Collar and placket are interfaced so they keep their shape, and both are edge-stitched, as are the front shoulder seams. The short sleeves end in a plain 2.5 cm turned hem, and the body in a straight hem, turned 2 cm and double-stitched, with no side vents. There is no pocket, and the back is plain, without a yoke. A polo to wear under a jacket in place of a shirt, or with grey trousers on its own. Cut to your measurements.
