Grey striped trousers in a wool cloth with Tencel and polyester, 350 grams to the metre. The Tencel gives the surface a cool smoothness and the polyester keeps the crease, so the chalk stripe stays sharp down a wide leg. A heavy cloth cut in the fullest line.
Double pleats toward the side seam, 4.4 cm deep, a 6 cm waistband, back pockets under a wide diamond-shaped flap, and a straight fly. Trousers with presence, for a plain dark jacket. Cut to your measurements.

Steam rather than wash, and press under a cloth. Rest it a day between wears on a shaped hanger. Dry-clean sparingly; once or twice a season is plenty.
