Design
The Highland is a light brown check overcoat in pure alpaca from Stylbiella, a heavy cloth at 550 grams to the metre. Alpaca is prized for warmth without bulk and has a soft, slightly lustrous hand, and the check gives the light brown depth so the coat never looks flat.
Single-breasted with three buttons and cut to the knee, it goes over a suit on a cold morning and over a knit at the weekend.

Steam rather than wash, and press under a cloth. Rest it a day between wears on a shaped hanger. Dry-clean sparingly; once or twice a season is plenty.
