Charcoal overcoat in a wool and cashmere cloth at 480 grams to the metre, with cashmere at thirty percent, which is where a coat stops being warm and starts being soft. Charcoal is the coat colour for everything: over a suit, over a knit, over black.
Lined to match the body cloth, made without a chest canvas so it drapes, and finished with a 0.8 cm pick stitch around the front and back of the armhole. Cut to your measurements.

Steam rather than wash, and press under a cloth. Rest it a day between wears on a shaped hanger. Dry-clean sparingly; once or twice a season is plenty.
