A trench coat in a coffee brown check, heavy wool at 550 grams to the metre: the trench coat's lines in a winter cloth: belted and long, with a tonal brown check that reads as texture at a distance. The heaviest coat in the archive, for the coldest weeks.
No chest canvas, so the weight hangs from the shoulders and the coat drapes rather than stands. Over a jacket and a roll neck, with grey or cream trousers. Cut to your measurements.

Steam rather than wash, and press under a cloth. Rest it a day between wears on a shaped hanger. Dry-clean sparingly; once or twice a season is plenty.
