Dark green wool trousers with a fine stripe, 270 grams to the metre, cut with double pleats toward the side seam at 3.8 cm and worn without a pressed crease, so the pleats shape the front and the stripe does the rest. A bottle green this deep reads as a neutral next to grey, cream and tan.
Narrow 1.3 cm belt loops, a button waistband with no extension, back pockets finished with a fine edge stitch, and a fixed hem topstitched at 2.5 cm. Cut to your measurements.

Steam rather than wash, and press under a cloth. Rest it a day between wears on a shaped hanger. Dry-clean sparingly; once or twice a season is plenty.
