White wool trousers, which is a rarer thing than white cotton and a better one in cool weather: the cloth, from Nobility, is a plain worsted at 275 grams to the metre with the fall and recovery of wool. A trouser for a summer wedding or a winter lunch in the sun.
Double pleats toward the side seam, 2 cm deep, and a wide 6 cm waistband, which together give a higher, fuller line in the older manner. The hem finishes in a 3.8 cm turn-up. Back pockets sit under a wide diamond-shaped flap. Straight fly. Cut to your measurements.

Steam rather than wash, and press under a cloth. Rest it a day between wears on a shaped hanger. Dry-clean sparingly; once or twice a season is plenty.
